When your assets reach the end of their lifecycle or for any other reason requiring their removal from inventory, Hector offers a tailored archiving solution that meet your needs! This article will provide you with detailed information about the various asset archiving options in Hector.
Creation of an Archiving Status
A new settings section is now available to configure asset archiving options for your users. You can find it under Archiving menu in the asset settings.
Here’s an overview:

By default, two archiving statuses are available and cannot be deleted. However, you can add additional statuses based on your needs by using the “Add a new status” button.
Here are the key details to know when creating:
Status Name:
Specify the name you wish to assign to the archiving status. This name will be visible to users and should be clear and descriptive.
Button Name:
Define the text that will appear when hovering over the button associated with this status. Choose a concise name that reflects the action triggered by the button.
Icon:
Select an icon that visually represents this status. This will help users quickly identify the status in the interface.
Show Note & Note Required:
Indicate whether a note can be added when using this status and if it should be mandatory. This allows for the collection of additional important information for users.
Button Color Selection Based on Theme:
Define the button color to match the chosen theme, ensuring visual consistency.
Status Behavior:
Describe how this status functions. This can help facilitate the tracking of information when creating your inventory reports.
Button Placement:
Indicate where this status will be displayed by default. This helps define its order of appearance in menus or lists. Refer to the information below to understand the differences.
