Odysseus 2.0.3 release notes

Version 2.0.3 · Released August 18, 2026

Odysseus can now use your own SNMP credentials, including SNMPv3, so it can read the model, serial number and firmware of devices that don’t answer the default “public” community.

New

  • SNMP credentials: add SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 credentials in the Odysseus integration settings in Hector. Each credential can be limited to some IP ranges, and the credentials are tried in the order you set until one gets an answer.
  • SNMPv3 support: all three security levels (no authentication, authentication only, authentication and encryption).
  • Credential results: the agent remembers which credential worked for each device and tries it first next time. Each discovery in the integration’s Results section shows how many devices answered SNMP, and which credentials they used.

Improved

  • SNMPv1 devices: when an older device rejects part of a request, Odysseus asks for each value separately instead of giving up on all of them.
  • Credentials kept secure: credentials are sent over the agent’s authenticated connection to Hector and are stored encrypted on the agent’s computer.

Fixed

  • Ricoh printers reported as Xerox: Ricoh devices are now identified from their MAC address.
  • Uptime: devices running for many days showed the wrong uptime, or a raw number.

Note for administrators

If you don’t add any credentials, nothing changes: Odysseus keeps using SNMPv2c with the community “public”.

For installation and configuration steps, see the integration guide with Odysseus.
