Odysseus 2.0.8 release notes

Version 2.0.8 · Released October 18, 2026

Improved

  • More reliable port detection: ports that don’t answer the first quick check on a device that is online are checked again, more slowly. Printers and other devices that ignore many connection attempts at once are now identified correctly.
  • Up-to-date configuration: Start Discovery now gets the latest configuration from Hector before the discovery starts, so recent changes to IP ranges or settings apply right away.
  • SNMP credentials removed in Hector: when every SNMP credential is removed from the integration, the agent also deletes the copies it stored.

Fixed

  • Agent installed for one user stopped working: on an agent installed without administrator rights, opening Odysseus as administrator locked the agent out of its own data. Discoveries then failed, SNMP credentials were ignored and nothing was sent to Hector. The user who installed the agent now keeps access to its data.
  • Discovery results lost: if the last discovery’s figures couldn’t be saved, the discovery was not sent to Hector and the window kept showing the previous one.

Note for administrators

For a computer that scans your network on its own, install Odysseus with the MSI, as an administrator, so discoveries run in the background service.

For installation and configuration steps, see the integration guide with Odysseus.
