Are you preparing to move an asset to another location, but would like to retain the original location as part of the move?
Here are the steps to take to get there:
Required before starting:
- Have access to the settings menu for configuration purposes
- Have permission in the roles to move an asset
- Have access to the resources menu
Step 1:
From the settings menu select the assets menu.
Step 2:
In the asset settings, under the asset menu, select the move menu and check the box: preserve current location on page load and save.
Step 3:
Back in your menu inventory, select assets, you will find the current list of your assets and the current location in the column whereabouts.
Step 4:
To transfer an asset from your list, click on the button actions and the application move asset.
Step 5:
With the pre-selected option you will notice that the person who has the asset in his or her possession at the moment or the location in some cases appears immediately in your transfer request. All you have to do is complete your request and save.
Step 6:
You will also have a second option that will allow you to assign a user to have access to all your current assets even those that have already been assigned to other users.
To do this you will need to select the settings menu, assets, in the move menu under: the quick assign source select all assets and save.
Step 7:
You will then be able to assign an asset from your complete inventory in the resources menu, users.
Step 8:
In the user card, you will be able to search or select from the drop-down quick assign menu any asset in your inventory that you wish to assign.
