IRIS Module User Guide

Welcome to the Iris user guide !

This module has been designed to simplify and streamline your daily inventory management by generating QR codes associated with specific actions. This article explains how the module works and the key principles for using it effectively.


⚡ Possible actions with Iris

Asset consumption

Scan to consume one or more assets from your inventory.

Asset movement

Move assets to your various warehouses, rooms, construction sites and employees with just a few scans.

Inventory creation

Add assets in seconds when you receive an order.

Asset usage

Scan to report usage on one or more assets.


⚙️ Iris code configuration

The list of your Iris codes is available under Settings › Iris.

You can create your own Iris codes by clicking on the New button at the top right of the page. Here’s how it works :

1. Name : The name of your Iris code.

2. Label : Allows you to associate your Iris code with a barcode or QR code label that you can create and customize using the Labels module.

3. Action : Allows you to associate your Iris code with one of the actions below.

Consume

Select the asset and quantity (available only for lots) to be consumed when scanning the Iris code. It is not mandatory to specify an asset when configuring the code. In this case, Hector will ask you to choose an asset after scanning the Iris code.

Move

Select the asset and quantity (available only for lots) to be moved when scanning the Iris code. It is also possible to specify a destination. It is not mandatory to specify an asset and destination when configuring the code. In this case, Hector will ask you to choose one or more assets and a destination after scanning the Iris code.

New Asset

Select the subcategory and quantity to add to your inventory when scanning the Iris code. It is not mandatory to specify a subcategory when configuring the code. In this case, Hector will ask you to choose a subcategory after scanning the Iris code.

Use

Select the asset for which you want to report usage when scanning the Iris code. It is not mandatory to specify an asset when configuring the code. In this case, Hector will ask you to choose an asset after scanning the Iris code.

4. Selection Mode :

Unique mode : Unique selection mode allows you to add only one entity per transaction. For example, when scanning an Iris movement code, it would be possible to move only one asset.

Multiple mode : Multiple selection mode allows you to add several entities in a single transaction. For example, when scanning an Iris movement code, it would be possible to move more than one asset.

5. Authentification required : If this option is checked, the user will need to log in to Hector in order to perform a transaction using the Iris code.

Using the Iris codes grid

You can print your Iris codes from the grid available under Settings › Iris :

Using the assets grid

You can also print your Iris codes from the assets grid, which is available under Inventory › Assets :


📱 Tools for reading Iris codes

Wired or wireless scanner

You can use a wired or wireless scanner connected to a computer to scan an Iris code. To do so, log in to Hector, place your cursor in the Hector search bar (located in the horizontal menu) and then scan your Iris code.

Mobile device

You can use a mobile device, such as a cell phone or tablet, to scan an Iris code. To do so, open the camera on your mobile device and scan your Iris code.
